Essentially the BDN consists of four separate parts, The Quarterly Expander Workshops, The Creative Destruction Series, The Advanced Investment Strategy and the Wealth Management Update.

The Quarterly Expander Workshops
Every 90 days, as a BDN member you will attend an Expander Workshop here in Aylesbury. These workshops are a highly intensive 5 hour meeting of between 15 and 40 like minded advisers. Each workshop focuses on a different part of your practice.

Each quarter we look in depth at a different part of the fee charging process. We know that it is hard to convert to a fee practice, and I know that so many people do this totally wrong. There is no point re-inventing the wheel, so we will give you, every 90 days, specific strategies to implement to convert you to a very profitable and effective practice. It is impossible to do everything at once, so by taking each part, piece by piece, we can build your fee system from the bottom up and get it right. The benefits of this are:

  • You can introduce the structure immediately to make back the cost of a years worth of attending the BDN in just one week!
  • You will be provided with example client agreements
  • You will only ever be shown ideas that work and that we use
  • You can at last resolve the VAT issue and how to deal with it
  • You can immediately generate non-regulated income

Each quarter you will build a goals and objective setting structure to ensure that you actually follow through on the ideas you will learn. Because you will be with other like-minded advisers you will:

  • Make and build strategic alliances that that will broaden your client offering
  • Develop an accountability structure to force you to achieve
  • See how other advisers have solved the very same problems that you are having through our “show & tell” sessions
  • Build lasting friendships that can carry you forward in our lonely business

The Expander workshops are not a fixed structure. The workshop has a life of its own allowing us to delve into areas that are needed at the time so that you can solve the problems you have.

Creative Destruction (PDF)
You will know of Dan Sullivan and have probably know that Strategic Coach now coaches in London, where one of his coaches will visit the UK each quarter to facilitate a workshop. The BDN is not this program, we are not teaching Dan Sullivan’s ideas and concepts. But Dan accepts that not everyone is at a place where they can either afford his fees (£5,500 pa) or are in a position to implement all of his ideas. And so he developed Creative Destruction as a way to get his ideas that are specifically aimed at financial advisers out to the masses.

Every 90 days you will receive three CD’s and a work book for you to use prior to the Expander Workshop. Creative Destruction alone is worth the cost of being a BDN member, but when you add it to the power of a group environment, it will propel your business forward in ways its hard to believe.

The Advanced Investment Strategy 
How long do you spend building asset allocation models for clients. How long do you spend research investments and funds to put together a great investment for your clients. If the best investments are the best investments, why don’t we all do the same thing. The answer is that many advisers don’t have the time and facility to put these things together as well as not have the standard and poor’s software to do it right.

I designed The Advanced Investment Strategy as way of producing investments for client’s that always outperform the benchmarks both in terms of performance and volatility. As a BDN member we will share this information with you every quarter. Even better than that, we will provide it to you in a format that you can add directly into your plans, reports and suitability letters. This saves you time, money and hassle and gives you yet another reason for clients to deal with you. As a BDN member you are also licensed to use our trademarked term “The Advanced Investment Strategy”.

The Wealth Management Update 
Less that 2% of financial advisers provide a newsletter for clients. Why is that? A newsletter, keeps your name in front of the clients and builds your personal branding. If you set it up with clients right they will even pay you for it!! How would that be, getting a client to pay you for being marketed too!

As a BDN member we will provide you with a monthly “Wealth Management Update”. This is the newsletter that I write in-house for our clients. This is provided to you monthly in a Publisher format, so that you can easily add your logo and information and forward it directly to your clients. No hassle no fuss. Just think, if you have 500 clients and you sell the newsletter to each of them for just £18.70 pa (and who would not buy at that price) that’s over £9000 of income for just signing one standing order at a client review and pressing one “send” button every month!
